Robocop is one of the weirder things I've seen.

If you saw it come around the internet and wondered....... how does ~that~ work.

Well, I've seen it in real life and I'm even more confused. I'm trying to figure out how this Prius with a sled and a computer attached to it catches up to me doing over 100MPH.

  2. I couldn't read it because the site cares about my privacy so much that you can't read the article without allowing cookies. That says they care right there.

I assume it's about the Tesla cop car? I saw that in Fremont a few months ago and just rolled my eyes.

  3. Yup, Tesla police car ran out of battery while chasing a suspect. I was highly amused.

  4. If you think that is fun wait until battery cars are more than only 1% of the cars on the road and they are all chained up to chargers. What a shit show that will be.

  5. What is this weird "kiosk cop" supposed to be for?

Seems like a solution in search of a problem.

The only places where I see this would even be of use are places where you already have to stop, such as at weigh stations or border crossings.

Maybe someone could use it as a gimmick for a chain of drive-thru hot dog restaurants done up with police themes called "K-9 Patrol" ... yeah, hot dogs and cops, get it, uh huh uh huh, nudge nudge ...

They could have the "Dirty Harry Special" ... with ketchup, because. :-)

No, really, what is this thing supposed to be for?

  6. Kiosk cop - love that. Sounds like keystone cops. I just think the whole thing is comical. Especially because how are cops going to run up on you and be - do you know how fast you were going? When you are doing over 100 they are pretty pissed. It doesn't have the same impact when they are sitting in their front seat. I just imagine parts falling off as it's chasing you.

P.S. my ticket falls off in Feb!
