Here's a thought.

Google Issues Ultimatum to Conservative Website: Remove 'Hateful' Article or Lose Ad Revenue.

Stop Google by calling their bluff. They also depend on ad revenue. And google owns a shitload of real estate right now... so stop feeding the beast.
We couldn't get hit twice...... could we? That storm Irma is heading straight for one of the Hebert boxes. Which gives it a very high chance of hitting Florida with a very strong storm. Here's to hoping that doesn't happen, but none of us thought 50 inches of rain was a real thing either.

Yeah, we are totally having an unbloody civil war.

Ann Coulter goes off on Trump over taxes, saying he delivered his 'worst, most tone-deaf speech'.

I'd like to start out by saying that I am generally Trump neutral. I'm not in love with the guy I don't yet hate him. And I think you should dislike your leaders. It's healthy! I care about capitalism. Nothing more. Nothing less. I care about the freedom to make your own way in life in whatever form that takes.

All of this crap about politicians "caring" about us has to be the creepiest Obama socialist holdover ever. Those of us economic conservatives just want you to get the eff out of our way. We don't need you to "care" about us.

So I found it quite perplexing today when I saw "conservatives" dismiss tax cuts as a trap for Trump and not needed apparently.

First and foremost - tax cuts strip the government of some of it's power. And any conservative that is against this is on the wrong side of history. Anything that helps defund them is good.

Secondly, if there is anything I know about Trump - he is good at slow rolling people. He's gotten out of every single scrape. It's quite fascinating. Each and every dust up I think - he isn't getting out of this one. Yet he does. And you know why? Talk to a construction dude. Trumps ideas are completely not out of the mainstream. Blue collar workers are actually quite a bit more extreme honestly.

The only trap being laid is for RINO's. Mark my words. He is setting these people up to be the sandbaggers they are.

Republicans can really blame themselves for where we are right now. They let Democrats say anything they wanted about us and they would just roll over and cower like a beaten dog. And they continue to do so. That is why Trump gets away with so much stuff. He at least fights back.

All I know is that times are going to get a little tough. That hurricane is going to affect us all. It's a black swan of unknown proportions. People are just pretending that it isn't right now. Telling people they can't have more of their own money is going to be really unpopular. Especially after Obama raised taxes at almost every level. He increased our national debt by 100%. And what do we have to show for it? Nothing except a huge bloated spying government. The Soviet Union would be proud.

It especially pissed me off when she tweeted the following:

"Bush cut taxes! Did it create millions of jobs? Nope. The rich pocketed their tax cut & sent jobs abroad, hired guest workers. F-- them."

No - the Bush tax cuts made it so anyone with a pulse could get an effing house. Obama however made all the banks who let this happen be bailed out with your money. He gave more money to the rich than any human on the planet.

STARVE THE BEAST.

Dear Conservatives,

YouTube "Economically Censors" Ron Paul, Labels Videos "Not Suitable" For All Advertisers.

The freedom to speak your mind does not include being paid by the very people that don't agree with your position. Youtube has the right not to pay you for a position they don't agree with. That is their free speech. They don't have the right to shut your speech down. Those are different things.

When I see all these conservatives complaining about Youtube not letting advertising be on their videos I think - why would you want to take money from them? It's video welfare.

I'm glad one of our local news anchors got attacked at Berkeley.

I see that Zero Hedge picked up the story that one of our local news anchors from KTVU got attacked at the Berkeley protest.  Frank Somerville deserves it! This channel in particular foments this kind of stuff. They frame the story as these people being the good guys.

They will cover the smallest protest from Answer International. Raging grannies. PSLweb. ANTIFA. These are all socialist groups. I've seen them cover a protest five people strong. And they do it ALL the time. It pisses me off to no end. And this is why California is so crazy. If there is a socialist protest - KTVU is there to lift them up and give them exposure. So I'm a little delighted they got a taste of what they create.

I didn't go to this thing because they've all gotten too dangerous and really I know who the players REALLY are. But I do think it's stunning that Answer International has the nerve to be against fascism. It's just not the right color fascism. Now if it was Che' they'd be all over it as you can see from the t-shirt above. They might be against white supremacy because really what they want is Che'/socialist supremacy.

In the below photo - the banner is from the Party of Socialism Restoration. You can see a larger photo here. These are all communist groups. They lay low and take advantage of any situation they can. But since no one seems to really understand who they are - they fly under the radar of most peoples sensibilities.

I am somewhat frustrated with the whole Berkeley thing in general. That place is lost and has been for decades. I'm not sure what the "Anti Marxism" groups expect to achieve. The police and news are against them. They are just there to get their asses kicked.

I think it would be a better idea to start asking these people if they support communism. Because I assure you, some of these people don't understand the signs they are carrying. Mr S. confronted one of these people at a Ron Paul rally years ago. And I can assure you these people are just morons.

It's like a while back they got a bunch of people to sign a petition to ban water. We used to be able to just mock and laugh at these people, but now the news has fomented so much crap these people have turned violent. Let them kill each other. Put a fence around it and let the people of Berkeley suffer their own cocktail of destruction.

Good Guys Cars 2017

Man, it was so nice to see a custom paint job. Maybe the car guys are finally starting to have a little more money. The past few years they have just been making everything original, and I'm pretty bored of it. It wasn't parked in the best place to capture it though. There's a lot of noise in the shots.

New Orleans must be crapping bullets right now. Didn't they just flood like a week ago with 9 inches of rain? And they still have 14 pumps offline.

Now they say... 10 inches of rain? No problem. With 14 pumps offline!

Someone didn't get the politically correct memo.

Whenever we go to Monterey we have to go through Hollister which is where my favorite winery is. Yeah..... Hollister makes some really good wine. My city is filled with wineries, but Hollister is better.

So imagine my surprise when I saw this sign. I have no dog in this fight other than I think erasing history is wrong. Rock on Hollister.

The end of last Tuesday.

These bubble gauges belong to this hideous car. Mr. S. likes the wedge noses. Me - not as much.

Update- scratch that. I didn't take pictures of the car the bubble gauges came from. I probably thought it was hideous.

More from the World of last Tuesday.

It's hideous! But all the dudes geeked out on this one. I guess there was a matchbook car and every boy on earth had one.

From the World of last Tuesday.

Mr S. and I have been calling the future "The world of Next Tuesday" for ages because of an old Ren and Stimpy cartoon. (yes, you do have to sit through an ad. Sorry) So, it only seems right to call these old futuristic concept cars - The world of Last Tuesday.

I think this year was the least exiting Pebble Beach ever. But it was sort of fun to see how car makers envisioned how they thought the world would look. Especially all the bubble windows.

This one was a Bobby Darin Coupe.

This is what they told us the future would look like.

I have to hand it to Lucid Motors.

I wouldn't call myself and electric vehicle fan. Possibly I will change my mind when it takes the same amount of time to charge them as it does to pump gas. So - I was pretty meh about this car. Until I saw it. Allegedly it goes 400 miles on a single charge. They couldn't tell me what it would do to the battery if I drove it 100MHP.

One thing I liked about the car is that it wasn't obvious from the outside that the roof was transparent. I also liked that the back seats bucket back. (that's a seat option. You can also get bench seats - but why would you?)

My greatest fantasy about these cars is that when they fully become autonomous (this one ships with level 2 autonomy) is that they become sleeper cars. This is when I become a buyer. Imagine the day that instead of driving to L.A., you slept to L.A.? You'd walk into your sleeper car and nap for six hours or so. Then you arrive in L.A. completely fresh as a daisy.

Last night Mr S. were talking about all the ways the word would change. You wouldn't need hotels as much. But places where you could just shower and take care of personal needs would pop up to service car nomads. And they would charge your car as a service.

I mean if I was 20 and not married and didn't have obligations - imagine how much of the world you could explore that way. You'd just wake up in another city. Would suburbia become further and further inland?

I also have to give the Lucid Motors sales people props. They weren't going to take your "I'm just browsing" crap.  They were hungry, but not annoying. Knew their product well. Because, I want to know the things like - where did you hide the lidar. (in those transparent bumper panels on the front and back) My only real complaint was that they roped if off too tightly so it was hard to get great shots. But that is a SiliconValley thing.

Tomorrow I'm making the pilgrimage to Pebble Beach. I'd keep an eye on my twitter feed to see if I've found any cool cars there.

Maybe women should try understanding men for once.

Women say they quit Google because of racial discrimination: 'I was invisible'.

Yes, I'm still on this because it bothers me because I am a woman. I read through this whole article claiming men were racist and sexist based on a misunderstanding of intent. The women in the article complained because they "have to constantly prove themselves". My take away was these women wanted special treatment because they were women.

Look - if you ask most men they will tell you that they feel invisible in the world. That is a mans lot in life. A life of invisibility. So, men constantly have to prove themselves to each other and to women frankly to not be invisible. That is also a mans lot in life. They are not treating women any differently than they would treat each other. They are treating you as an equal. And as a women - you shouldn't want to be treated differently then men. This is a workplace. Prove yourself on your merits- not because you have lady parts. Men will respect you just fine. But you do have to prove yourself to them like they do to each other. That is not a "boys club". That is competition which makes the world a better place. Girls just don't feel like we need to compete.

They also complained they didn't see "people who looked like them" who were mentors. i.e. women. I don't really understand women's deep seated need to see other women in their field. I've talked to a bunch them. Tech is not a social club. It's a place where things are built. It's no different than construction. You are based on what you can build or fix.

I bet a hundred dollars that if you were to ask any man that worked in tech if they felt the same way as these women did - they would say YES. But because women are complaining it s huge problem. If women really wanted prove themselves - build a software or hardware company. Get off your ass and change the world that way.

You probably wont get much this afternoon. I'm going to be at a conference at Intel.

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't think this is a problem.

When people started stepping down from Trumps manufacturing council I though - some of these people shouldn't be advising anyone. Under Armor is having real financial problems right now. They should get their own act together.

Intel (and I shouldn't really talk about them because I might be there tomorrow) is dying. They are late in the game on everything! Really - they are just now getting into self driving cars? That's about five years too late. Intel is basically at the stage where they have to buy their way out of death by acquiring new companies and IP. Their chip architecture is toast. ARM won.

Update - As evidence - Intel is sitting on a fab site in Arizona blessed by Obama in 2012 that is still sitting idle after SIX years! How does a company afford that? Crony capitalism of course.

From my inner tard.

Look at that tail pipe! Come on. You know it makes you laugh.
