If you knew how many times we've called her a dog to get into hotels.

Lacy identifies as whatever pet a hotel will take. She's not succumbing to your pet stereotypes.!

Dwan, welcome to the blog! - but I have to tell you that nerve is so dead. It's everyones go to. Even I've considered eating one. If it wasn't for the silence of the lambs.........

well, My great grandpa used to raise rabbits and sell the meat at the grocery stores. I remember when he asked me if I wanted a rabbits foot.
I had been petting a rabbit and he saw that...and decided to show me the facts of life.
I made the mistake of saying yes.

He took that rabbit and hung it by it's hind feet over a barrel and cut it's throat (all the while it was squealing, and those rabbits have a VERY high scream).
He let it drain and then hacked a paw off and handed it to me.
I was in shock for days and had nightmares about it for months.

But, still, rabbit does taste pretty good.

Moral of the story is, "meat doesn't magically appear in grocery stores or grow on trees. If you eat something you better be prepared to kill it to eat it. No room for the squeamish."

Yeah. That's why I made the Silence of the Lambs reference. At the Snarkolepsy household the screaming is the last thing we want to hear. For the most part it means they are going to die or they are seriously injured. Although I did have one rabbit that had nightmares. If you can believe that. When she slept sometimes she would scream like she was dieing. They all have their own little quirks. And that one kinda sucked.

When I was a kid those rabbit feet were the rage. I had one. And a rabbit coat. Rabbit does look good. And I'm not saying I wouldn't, but probably not. Most people wouldn't eat a dog because they own dogs..... right?

I'm not against it. I just have sentimental attachment. I almost wish I had tried it back before I had that though.
