People reveal their true preferences.

I find it sort of fascinating what people will not buy right now. With so many shelves still sold out.

There is still no TP in the store I went to today. No pasta and very little water.

It's almost like they are saying - If I'm going to die..... it's not going to be on a diet. You can still find plenty of whole grain bread and pop chips. Who would have guessed people would pass on pop chips?

    I actually love Dave's Killer Bread. :-)

Aside from a really hearty country French loaf, it's some of the best bread out there. But it's pricey and it's only really excellent when you toast it, because that's when the aroma and taste of all of those grains comes out.

This is the now nationally available sandwich bread you really, really want for top-notch grilled cheese sandwiches.

$6.19 for a loaf though? In California?

Hell, I saw this Good Seed bread going for $4.99 at a Walmart in North Carolina and it wasn't on sale.

Pasta's still easy for me to get because I prefer to eat the high-protein chickpea stuff. I've seen plenty of Banza high-protein chickpea pasta and plenty of alfredo sauce in jars, so there's your mac and cheese done better.

In a few days me and a shipping container full of company supplies are having a hoe-down with a few of our people driving out to meet it, and then we're headed back home.

As fucked up as Europe is with these cases, we still have people to support, and at least so far through this chaos I can still say that our stuff hasn't killed anyone.

I don't like that there are a lot of coronavirus cases starting to hit North Florida, especially since this stuff will rip through the retirement communities, and there are a lot of those.

Shortly after I left Wyoming, they had their first case there, and there's now nowhere in the Lower 48 untouched.

You should see what air traffic looks like now.

This morning early (around 3:30 AM) there were a total of eleven aircraft over North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia.

Nothing was landing at any of the larger airports, including ATL and CLT -- everything up in the air was an executive jet except for one UPS cargo plane.

I took a look all the way out to about a thousand miles away from ATL and CLT, and there wasn't anything even squawking KATL or KCLT as a destination or headed in that direction.

Normally they'd be still be landing cargo planes in the night.

Over Florida there were around a half dozen aircraft, most of them around Embry-Riddle, and nothing was on approach or taking off at TPA, RSW, TPA, and MIA.

Normally MCO is super-busy at any time of day, but there wasn't anything anywhere near it. That's Orlando International, which would normally be receiving planes for the Disney World recreational sprawl, as well as cargo planes in the night.

Some cargo's still flying, but a lot of it looked like it was headed into Chicago and New York. There were more planes over Wyoming and the Dakotas at that time than there were over the entire Southeast, and very few of them were heading south.

That's not the strangest lack of aircraft traffic I saw though.

During Friday evening Manila time, there was just one plane over the entirety of the Philippines, and its ADSB squawk said it was just overflying the country on the way to somewhere else.

This is even freakier than after 9/11.

  3. I have different bread needs. If it's too dense I'm not happy. It has to have GIANT bubbles and be light as a feather.

The air traffic is wild. I think the one thing I find freaky is just how quiet it is. Cities have a natural amount of noise and it's just weird that there is none of that. As a matter of a fact I'm convinced I will know when things get bad because you can hear the sirens over half the town. It's that quiet.

  4. I'm trying some "no knead" bread, it's cooling and I'll cut it tomorrow when I'll need some. I still have more dough in the refrigerator, next time I'll try it in a bread pan.

Rob: A DIY tandoor for your bread.

I've seen much more hardcore DIY versions of these built with mud right out of a back yard, but this one looks nice and won't upset your nay-burrz. :-)
