OMG people. We get to vote on daylight savings time.

  1. The way federal law is written, states can opt out of daylight saving time but they can't opt out of standard time ...

    And so Florida can't stay on daylight saving time despite a bill being passed by the Florida legislature this year.

    I'd be OK with a work-around that lets us stay on Atlantic Standard Time which would be the same thing.

    BTW, I think this is really a recognition of the fact that many Floridians actually hate mornings and want longer evenings.

    I'd also be OK with state nullification of the federal law, to which there are undoubtedly some South Carolinians thinking, "Welcome to the party, even if you are over one hundred fifty years late!" :-)
