I don't know what they do to the glass on Teslas - but it looks pretty cool in the rain.

    It's probably Rayleigh scattering off an anti-glare coating ...

    I have a pair of prescription sunglasses that'll do this after I wash them.

    BTW, have you noticed how most people now tend to freak out when you Give Them The Science(tm) and talk about how things really work?

    Where I grew up, I was expected to have more than passing knowledge about the oil industry, construction, agriculture, and machinery. I have helped put an oil well back in service, put a room-sized barbecue smoker together, tended to cattle and hogs, fixed the soil quality of a very depleted section of land, rebuilt a transmission on a truck, and repaired out-of-warranty DEC and IBM gear with whatever we had nearby.

    All of this before I could drive a car legally.

    I sometimes have nightmares that involve repairing Chevy trucks in the middle of a machine room full of VAX 11/780s ... until I wake up laughing at how that'd be an even bigger nightmare for The Millennials. :-)

    But seriously, how do people get away with knowing so goddamn little these days?

    It's almost like the schools are failing people ... but I didn't learn any of that stuff in schools ...

    Nope. Probably because I just don't give a shit. You are probably just getting plash from the mansplaining thing. As a chick I can do anything I want. Hahahahahahaha

    To be fair - it's not really just "these days". It's one of things that is most amazing about the United States. You can do the bare minimum here and still thrive really. By most third world standards at least. I think it's bothering you because there are just more people taking advantage of that route now. It used to be more rare.

    No - people are failing society. Adults should be able to take care of themselves. It should be the bare minimum. This is why we have so many people living on the streets. We've made not being able to take care of yourself acceptable.
