Almost snow.

We had a pretty decent hail storm today. All the while it was spitting out the most intense rainbow I'd ever seen. And you other States don't make fun of me! This is as good as California gets. We barely even get WATER to fall from the sky.

The last time Miami saw snow was back in the 1970s, which is something that Miami locals like repeating because of the rarity ...

I don't know when the last time was for North Florida, but it doesn't happen often, and I've never seen it happen.

I was living in The People's Republic of Central Texas (from which I'm a refugee) when a big snow hit and the Texas DPS ordered everyone off the roads who wasn't doing essential stuff.

That was after four hundred plus car wrecks on Mopac alone, which is nowhere even close to being an interstate road, even though most of it is limited access.

I only got semi-hardened against snow by living in Canada, Sweden, and the UK for a while, and a lot of the time I'd take public transport because that was the more realistic option in terms of making it home later.

BTW ... what's this with you and GILROY???

Once upon a time, that used to be the garlic lover's Valhalla, and then better and lower-priced Chinese garlic showed up on the market (but don't tell the people in Gilroy that or they'll hate you for speaking the truth) ...

Still, the Gilroy Garlic Festival is worth doing when it comes up in the summer.

It's nowhere near as rowdy as a certain festival focused on an unusual dietary experience that sadly has ceased to be.

I think they should bring it back though, but as a Darwin Award Contest Festival in which the rednecks in attendance try to out Jackass each other. :-)

But you and GILROY ... you'll be moving to Rocky Mount, North Carolina yet! :-)

  2. I don't know. It was so green down there. I think I lost my mind for a second. Apparently everywhere looks a LOT better when it's green. It's like a filter. And there is a lot of land down there. The garlic festival is lost to traffic now. And the farmers are recently super happy with Trumos tariffs apparently. That Cheap Chinese garlic was killing them. They lost a ton of farms.

I have actually tried testicles. It's not the best part of a man or a bull. So there is that. But it wasn't in some redneck hideout. It was in like - North Dakota. You'd really think you could find an amazing steak in a State like that, but I tried balls instead. They were sort of neutral.

  3. Come visit me for a few days and I'll fix that attraction to water falling out of the sky ;)

  4. (smile) Someone tells me there is an awesome aquarium where you live. So I think I would visit it. The best time to go in the rain. So it might take me slightly longer to rid myself of that attraction. ;/
