Last night on the Old People News they were telling people the pandemic is over because cases are going down. But BA.2 is waiting in the wings to fuck EVERYTHING up. My people say this virus NEVER becomes endemic. Anything with a RO greater than 3 will never become endemic. And we are basically at the point of virus soup.
I guess I wasn't really prepared for how comfortable people were with Eugenics. And it just really makes me sad. I just don't understand a country that sacrifices itself this way. It truly is a Hatedemic. This virus has gone on so long because we are bitter ugly people willing to kill off people on the other side of the political spectrum. Because they were born not perfect. Because there are too many people on this earth. Because - just fuck em. Because you have to clear out the dead wood. Because - I just don't like you. There are a million reasons we didn't give a fuck. And now we are here worse off than ever.
And now we are getting headlines like this! Record number of Americans missed work due to illness in January.

Seriously, the Chinese agents you have to deal with are super competent.
They'll astroturf and fund an "environmental group" in record time to discover some flower that keeps lithium production from going online in Nevada.
They'll create impediments to bringing at least 3 billion cubic feet of natural gas transport online so prices go down in the US Northeast.
They are so plentiful that they should go into the florist business, because they're fucking everywhere.

But it's not your biggest worry, because most of these people have no actual agency, and that's why they are so ragey.
Vlad's your biggest worry, and there's a trick up his sleeve that could undo NATO: Germany depends on Russian energy, and it's not been getting as sweet a deal from NATO and particularly the US over the past twenty years.
Germany could go ahead with a new economic bloc that replaces the political block of the Warsaw Pact. Plenty of other European countries could follow, such as Poland which also doesn't really do well standing on its own or with traditional Euro regional allies (such as the UK).
Russia doesn't have to create the new bloc, it just has to join it to gain the benefits, plus that makes it possible for China to join as well.
Most of what's been keeping the economic conditions of the Pax Americana stable has been the relative inertness of NATO in terms of membership changes, but with Vlad deciding he doesn't really want to have more NATO on his country's borders, he may choose to play the economic game better than America.
George Kennan would understand: it's containment theory used against America instead of being used by it.
BTW, rhinoviruses do a great job of kicking out coronaviruses. [coof] :-)

The Jury is still out on China. I think eventually some country gets tired of their bullshit and pops off. They have put an enormous strain on the world. And I don't ~think~ their economy can't handle the repeated lockdowns. But.... they know if they don't pursue Covid 0, and let that out of control there the world might collapse. They make literally everything.

I wouldn't call it strange as that implies ulterior motives -(sometimes you make a guess at something and it's just wrong) but it is surprising the vaxxes didn't work for longer. And now all there T-cell tress that is showing up is surprising.

3:all attempts at mitigation have done serious harm to not only the supply chain that we all depend on to survive, but also the public in general, and especially the children caught up in this. The public trust in the health system alone is going to take generations to fix.
4:the .GOV has gone out of its way to pick the WORST way to try to get people to follow the mitigation measures attempted resulting in even the small % of likelyhood of them working to fail
5: the damage being done to kids by these measures is astronomical, and we're going to be seeing it for years
6: worldwide governments and public health entities completely ignored every single pandemic plan in place when this hit, despite the fact that there were plans IN PLACE for the handling of respiratory viruses worse than C19, plans that likely would have worked better than what was done since those plans ALSO accurately predicted the way it runs in waves.
7: the exact same vulnerable population that the various mitigation steps were supposed to protect were instead injured more due to inhumane lockdowns, isolation procedures, lack of medical care, and dumbass .GOV policies.
None of that is eugenics. Nor is it eugenics to recognize that even if those things weren't true, and even if the various mitigation steps HAD had a serious chance to be successful, they're only as successful as the people who use them, and we've had repeated proof that that is simply not going to happen. Your own home state politicians as foremost proof (dumbass "I held my breath" idiot).
We're way past the point where we need to figure out how to get on with life, cause if we don't the damage to the kids alone is going to be permanent. Never mind the inhumane way we're treating our vulnerable!

It releases a cytokin storm to a wide range of results. Ultimately it causes your oxygen levels to plummet. Because it's NOT a respiratory disease it's a vascular disease.

I'm getting really ~tired~ of people saying Oh mew.. you have a mask manage in place or you're in "lockdown" but your cases are crazy. I've got news for you - you can't control China's supply chain. Even if we did EVERYTHING right - China still has it's own states mission. I am not a COVID zero person. But they are, for possibly good reason that I am not going to outline here.

I would like to reference the beginning of this reply. But I am curious what "plans" you thought our government had that they would have aced this pandemic with. You know what is fucked up? You only seem to care about "certain people's mental health. You have cited mental health many times. And since I have been on a phyc ward twice - I notice it. What about the mental health of doctors and nurses? They commit suicide too. And the messed up thing is the "lockdowns are killing us" people would use that added suicide number as a weapon against them. Those people have seen more death than people who go to war.

Honestly I find that really fucking ironic you say this, because Team no mask doesn't give a fuck about the vulnerable. This is where all these variants come from and it's well documented. All of the noted variants came from AIDS, cancer patients and the last one was just unknown immunocompromised. Your turn

A cytokine storm is basically your immune system becoming hyperactive and trying to kill you.
Calling it a respiratory virus makes people think you are going to get a chest cold and a cough, but what you get is heart attacks, clots, and aneurisms.
