Pennies for your thoughts.

This is an art installation in downtown San Jose. It's made of pennies.

  1. That's cool. It actually does look like fur.

  2. It's a clever idea right? I mean... no one uses pennies anymore. All pennies are worthless.

I flew from MIA to SEA via old Denver Stapleton and back once on a giant mayo jar full of pennies ...

So, no, not entirely worthless. That was an awesome trip. Seattle was actually still cool back in the mid-1990s. :-)

Are they actually Canadian pennies though? It's against the law to deface the currency. The Canadian Mint would actually be OK with this and might help out because they could dump some of their worthless stock of pennies. Canada got rid of their pennies a few years ago -- the last one's in a museum now.

Otherwise, if those are real American pennies, I'd give this thing about a week in Miami-Dade before metal thieves made off with the pennies ... and three days in Broward, because the cops would probably be in on the heist. :-)

  4. Oh huh....I'm not sure what kind of pennies they are. Our bums are fancy....I think they might leave the pennies alone. Today I saw a "camp" with three bikes! Why steal pennies when people just throw away bikes and crap.

  5. In this world I'm surprised it hasn't been stolen and distributed around the state using coinstars. Ha!
