Autonomous drones.
On a scale from 0 -10 how freaked out does this make you? Zero being not freaked out at all.
They are marketing this as a selfie drone, but I think they should call it an outdoor companion. If I do a lot of extreme sports I want people to know how I died. And really - if it can follow you - it could be trained to understand that if you stopped for too long it might need to go get help. I mean, if we are fantasizing about stuff.

They're not cheap. I would like one of these to follow my dog outside though.
ReplyDeleteIt's firstgen. So the price will come down. If not with them - with knockoffs. The first person to put an Alexa on that thing will rule the world.

Can you imagine all the drone paint ball shooters?
ReplyDeleteCan you also imagine how well drone tactical area denial systems are going to sell, especially if the manufacturers come out with personal models?
Also, if my cat winds up getting one as a Christmas present ...
"Hello, Mister Refugee? This is the Miami-Dade County Police, we're holding your cat as an accessory to the drive-by paint ball shooting of the mayor's dog ..."
On second thought, I probably shouldn't give the cat one. :-)
