Bad Ass. Noble Edition.

Other shots here, here, here, and here. Because, Mr S. says that guys want to see the cars from other angles.

Today I was up at a car show in Half Moon Bay. It's getting harder and harder to find cars I haven't seen before.

The interesting find from today was not in the show - it was in the parking lot. Almost un-noticeable. It was sandwiched in between a truck and a mini van. I only noticed it because of the wing, and initially thought it was a Lotus.

Once I started taking shots of it, I realised I didn't know what it was. I'd never heard of a car or a company called Noble. Neither had Mr S.

Turns out it is out of Noble Automotive Ltd. And, is a pretty rare car. It's a Noble M12 GTO-3R. While it isn't that expensive of a car - it does 0-100 in 5.8 seconds. 0-60 in 4 seconds. So I think it fits into the bad ass section.

Bad Ass Noble.

This is a Noble M400. Turns out my town has a repair shop for the Noble line. There are 19 of them sitting there. Which might be the full inventory for Silicon Valley. I also might have to stalk them down. I mean, a year ago when I saw my first one - I didn't think I would ever see another one. Now there are 19 sitting in my town.

Normally I don't take pictures of the motors. My Husband tells me dudes like that. As long as it can take my heavy foot - I don't much give a shit about the motor. Mr S. also seemed to think I would be a cop magnet with one of these. Because I am going to drive it like a man, Baby!

Bad ass. Except for that one.

Today I went to a snooty upscale mall for a car show. I mean.. really upscale. Where you don't know if the cars are show cars, or they actually belong to people in the mall. I passed by a Ferrari and a Bentley in the parking lot before I even got to the show area. Pictures at the end.

Aside from your standard fare was this Rossion. I know. I'd never heard of it before either. Apparently it's the successor to the Noble. Rossion acquired the rights to the Noble and came out with this design. Which I actually like better. The Noble has this giant wing that disrupts the whole look of the car. Now if they let me drive one, I might have a different opinion. For now though.. sans wing is better.

This color is slightly off. Top view was picking up the sky color, which was mostly white.

Still loving flat colors. Especially on this car. Looks like a fighter jet.

This is an Atom.

This car... I think sucks. I'm only posting it for Mr S.

Stuff just in the parking lot.

Same car. Different angle.

Meanwhile Back at Santana Row. Part 1.

Last month there was a Pagani leaving the Santana Row show as we arrived, so we got up extra early this month to see if we could catch it if we just got there earlier. We weren't even sure they were going to have the cars out today because we actually got rain last night. Do you drive a Pagani in the rain? I don't know.

Anyway, we show up and start to walk the mall, and all I see are Corvettes and Porches which I was not happy about. Throw in a DeLorean and I'm flat out miserable. These ingredients make up for the worst car show ever in my mind. Bored, bored, bored. I mean, the new Corvettes are okay. I'm just not into them.

Mr S. and I start trying to figure out how to kill time until the burger place opens for lunch. Usually we are entertained until about noon and right now this thing looks like a complete bust. So we keep walking the mall and off in the distance I see gull wing doors. At first I thought it could have been a wedding because people were pretty dressed up. Santana Row seems like and odd place for a wedding but it can really look magical at certain times of the year. They have fake churchy looking buildings and the whole bit. Who am I to judge someone's venue?

A whole bunch of people were all clustered around this car which I'd never seen before. It's an Ultima GTR. Apparently it's a kit car like the Noble. You can assemble it, or pay to have someone assemble it. The Noble's have someone in my city that does that. It turned out they had car models this month. It wasn't a wedding after all.

I have to say, kit cars are way better then when I was growing up. When I was growing up they always looked a little junky. These days they look really professionally done. Most times I have to ask if it's a kit or not. I wasn't sure with this one, but Mr S. thought it was a kit. In the day you never had to ask. They always looked kit-ty.

To be continued...

Noble in the wild.

I haven't seen one of these in a while, so I had to chase it down. Thankfully the owner parked and made it easy on me. It's really the best looking kit car on the planet. Yes. You have to put this together yourself. Or hire someone.

The sun was really low in the sky - so that's why the middle shots look so over saturated. Noble Motors home.

A car you have never seen before.

This is a Zenos E10s.  More images here. It's the first one imported from the UK. So... you've never seen this unless you live in the UK.  Yes, I've stereotyped everyone in that country because I think they all watch Top Gear. So, they probably have seen this before.

Anyway. It's a kit car. You can pay someone to put it together, or you can put it together yourself. It only took the distributor three days to put this one together. All I know is that kit cars have come a loooong way. When I was growing up, they were the crappiest looking cars. Now there are a few really cool kit cars like this one and the Noble.

This car only weights slightly less than 1600 pounds.

It was fun enough to just run across this car, but while I was taking pictures - this woman walked up to us and started making small talk. Eventually she wound up telling us she had a car on order and started showing us photos of it on her phone. We all parted ways. I went to the ladies room. Mr S. went to check out a racetrack car. When I got back to him he said - that car she was telling up about doesn't exist yet according to the internet. They haven't released it. But she had video and everything!

Now I'm gonna have to make that girl my friend because I'd never seen anything like that car. And even thought I know the name - I can't release it.

Rainy day car show.

Not really much there except the Noble, but I kind of liked this hood. These types of paint jobs are hard to get in the blazing sun. A little overcast helped.

Pot luck Wednesday.

I've been busy today. So, no rants. Lucky you! You get a Noble and an Xprize car from Saba Motors.

These pictures are two weeks old.

Sitting in traffic we accidentally ran across a car show at the San Jose Mercury News building. I didn't post these because I wasn't expecting to be at a car show, and I only had mint berry. Who's batteries promptly failed. Stupid non standard batteries.

These were taken with a cell phone.
