This is a nine liter twin turbo charged V8.

I'll wait for your tard laugh to stop. It's called the Trion Nemisis. Apparently the motor is a stock motor from Mercury racing. I've never heard of a 9 liter motor before. Just to give you an idea what a monster that is - the Bugatti Veyron has an 8 liter engine.

Tron i8.

This never gets old. I thought it would, but I passed on McClarens to post this first. This was at the monthly Santana Row car show.

As we were getting ready to leave I spot this little girl in the crowd, and she's carrying one of the BMW i8 toy cars around. Which I thought it was just really bad ass.

BAC Mono North America.

This car has been out for at least a couple of years, but it's the first time I've seen one. It was featured on Top Gear I guess in 2013.

I saw it on the links at Pebble Beach and really didn't think much of it. So I was pretty glad Mr S. spotted it downtown Carmel.  That way you could walk around it. On the links they have it roped off. It looked much better in a natural environment. BAC Mono home page.

2014 Ferrari Enzo.

I've been dieing for the monthly Santa Row car show. My car sugar was low and I wanted to see what the rich kids got for Christmas. I mean, you are going to bring your best stuff two days after Christmas. Right? It better be the best car show of the year!

It only goes until about noon, and a lot of the guys were starting to leave - so Mr S. and I went over to The Counter for a burger. They have one at Santa Row now. If McDonalds needs to understand why their sales are caving - it's because of places like the Counter. You get to choose all your ingredients! If you have a bad burger - it's all your fault. There is a burger renaissance going on. Seriously.

After lunch we decided to take one last look to see if there were any stragglers. I couldn't even see what this car was, but I could see the crush of people. Which is always a good sign.

It turned out to be this Enzo which I think it actually a pretty hideous car. I'm not that hot on Ferrari's. They are too long and boxy for me. But the guy next to me is furiously Googling this car and trying to tell me it cost 2.9 million dollars. Which of course brings out my tard laugh. Mr S. wasn't sure which year it was, but he knew he'd never seen one before. But I think it's this years model. I'd say that definitely makes it bad ass. Still hideous. But - bad ass.

After the show.

I hate myself a little for saying this - but I didn't think McLaren's thrilled me anymore. I see them fairly often. I go to a lot of car shows. Though I've never seen one in the wild yet.

That is until I saw this McLaren P1 without the wing. Well, technically I saw the swarm of photogs before I saw the car. I was hunting a Pagani. You may all flip me off now.

Sooooooo bad ass.

When I was taking pictures of this car Mr S. said to me - the weird thing is that without the Mercedes emblem, you wouldn't even know this was a Mercedes. To which I replied - I know! That's why I love this car. I'm pretty amazed my shots even came out that well because the Pebble Beach Councours is always shrouded in grey fog. And this is a grey car. Which isn't even a color!

It's a Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo. I guess this car was spawned from the game of the same name on the PS3. Here.

Murcielago in the wild.

You can not go to Walnut Creek and not see something like this. The interesting thing about this car was the windows were tinted almost black. Get pulled over all the time, dark. Except maybe in Walnut Creek.

Pagani Huayra @CES 2014.

Used to be that going to CES for me was more about the cars than the tech for me. Most of that stuff I can see around the Valley eventually. EV's (electric vehicles) have basically ruined that. In years past the cars were so loaded up with tech it was crazy. No one wants to spend four hours charging their car so they can have five TV screens in their car.  Even if it's just to show off.

I'm not sure how much electricity a bumping sound system takes, but the day I hear a Tesla with a sound system that rattles my car in traffic - I might change my mind. EV's go against everything we are as Americans. Moar power!
