This looks similar to the older work of a pretty famous desiger named Wendell Castle. He's changed directions a few times over the years, but he's a very inovative artisan. My favorite piece was a coat rack, with a coat on it, all carved out of one big chunk of wood. The coat looked like you could pick it up and put it on.
