He's not going to get the blame for anything. Not for pulling demand forward for eight years while suffocating the economy. Not for doubling the national debt. Not for allowing big tech companies to run roughshod over people. Not for incentivising US companies to outsource everything to China. Nope - trump is going to get the blame for all of that.
As you can see from this chart, the top was in around April of 2018. This downturn coincides with the start of them increasing interest rates. NOT TARIFFS. This is when housing started to turn.
And generally it's really irritating to see people talk about negative interest rates right now. When they clearly have no idea what is happening in the rest of the world. I just kinda think if you lost your house in the last downturn, have claimed bankruptcy or are mired in student loan debt - maybe you should sit this one out.
I'm not happy about any of this, but watching the shallow thinkers blame Trump is super irritating.

Hello Anon! I think it's amazing it took this long? I'm trying to find my old posts where I have talked about Ford. I've said they were a dead company walking for quite some time. I just don't understand a company that focuses so much on bicycles. Lime bikes are sponsored by Ford. I've been to dozens of conferences where they are suckling the taint of City leaders who are trying to get us out of our cars. So, I just don't get it.
ReplyDeletePlus I think they have closed down all or almost all of their Europe manufacturing. This however is NOT investing advice. Stocks can do crazy things for the wrong reasons. For instance when PG&E claimed bankruptcy it spiked 50%. Ford might malinger on for who knows how long. But generally I think they are a dead company.
Also, I try to urge my anon posters to come up with some anon nym. You don't have to. I'm not telling you what to do, and I don't care who you are. I just have a lot of anon posters and if you are returning it's easier to reply accordingly.
