My city hosts a rodeo. Which isn't my jam, so I've never been. Every once in a while I've happened upon the after parade the city has. Which it's still kind fun to see bulls in the city. But I've lived here 10 years and I didn't even know they took the horses through the city.
They host the rodeo in my neighborhood and we were getting an early start because it's a project weekend. And the police had started blocking off the streets as we were coming out of our neighborhood. When we saw a ton of police we pulled over and managed to watch them bring the horses down to the rodeo grounds. Street sweepers in tow.
The city next to me brings like a stampede of cows through their city every year, but I didn't even know mine did this. Usually I'm not up early enough.
After I posted this Mr S. said they brought cows through too. And I was like - what? I didn't even notice the cows. But after reviewing the photos it looks like they were bringing the rodeo bulls through too.
It's kinda charming. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but it's kinda cute towns still do that.
