I talked to a guy today who it took him three months to get someone to paint his house. I thought I was having a hard time, but painters are the least skilled most common contractor! Anyone can paint.

I've never seen anything like it.

I think inflation is really starting to bubble under the surface. There is a housing shortage. A construction worker shortage. And soon to be a building supply shortage. Hopefully those hurricane damaged States aren't having the same worker shortage we have here. Because that would be mind bending.

It takes at least three months from every sector of construction, that's how far you have to book someone out now.

  1. Sounds like it's time for more training in the trades.

  2. If people even want to do that anymore. I suspect we are suffering from the immigration rules right now. Mexicans were basically cornering the niche on painting. It's crazy you have to be put on a waitlist for house painting.

You could get your house painted that way with some want-ads ...

And I'm willing to bet that the results would probably piss off your irritating nay-burr. :-)
