I got to see this interesting concept demo'ed yesterday. Currently the application they are focusing on is pipeline inspection. This job is really costly right now. Presumably this drone will be able to stay in the air and just travel the pipes sending info back to the Mothership headquarters indefinitely. I'm not sure how they are going to work out the wind variables. But it is an interesting concept.

ReplyDeleteOh, this one is great for aerial footage! It is smooth in the air and you can make some amazing panoramic shots with it. But, for now, making one on your own is something that probably most of us would find too complicated. But, building a quad or another multirotor, is actually not that complicated when you get into it, and have one or two projects behind you :) For those who are willing to give it a try, I recommend this article that jhelped me a lot when I started this hobby: http://mydronelab.com/blog/how-to-build-a-drone.html
