You don't have to leave, but you can't stay here.

Woke up yesterday and saw this out of one of my windows. So, as you can imagine I spent half the day razing the whole tree. It'll grow back. We don't really have many trees on our property. My neighbors have plenty. That mostly spill onto our property. And we don't have power lines in the neighborhood. So... I had to take away their whole food source - which apparently is Oranges right now. They were actually kind of bold. Plus, you don't often see them in pairs.

On the flip side - a few weeks ago I was cutting down some ornamental grass in the yard and found this. It's a walnut. I left it. Even though my neighbor has a walnut tree and the squirrels can just get another one.

  1. Yep, I freaked out when I saw one sitting in my bird feeder, in broad daylight. Tree razed or not, the thing is that you can't ever really get rid of rats; they're always around. If not in your house, then in your neighbor's...

This was an eye-opening book on the subject. :)

  2. Yeah. I know. Lazy cats. The neighbors I'm sure are leaving their dog food out and such.
