Ya know what is awkward? Having an electric car battery maker go bankrupt on the day you are going to have a debate.

  1. On a slightly un/related note, I've discovered the pitfalls of going CNG. Apparently, there is zero support for fixing vehicles that are over 10 years old. Pity that a simple part can bankrupt an entire vehicle.

  2. Oh! Please tell. What part can be that essential to brick a vehicle? At least we know it's not the battery. Hahahah. Sorry. That's probably not funny to you, since it sound like your van is bricked.

  3. Turns out that in order to control emissions there's some kind of wonky sensor that reads the exhaust and shuts down the engine, if it's not the right mix. The geniuses who created it put some kind of a suicide battery in them, to guarantee themselves future job security or something. Since changing the tanks (which expires) is prohibitively expensive, there hasn't been a ton of demand for replacement parts, so the company that had the right security codes stopped making them 8 years ago. My only option right now is to find an identical van that was also converted to CNG aftermarket or try and put in an entirely new fuel system.

  4. Doh. Sensors. They make you want to punch the sky. I've been trying to think all day how to fix that. Did you check ebay?
