Storm #2 and my fence is still up. Thankfully the weather service is predicting atmospheric rivers of rain.

Best hypercolor evar.

This video is from the summer. There are about five reasons I never posted the video. Some guy was blatantly trying to be in my video. I didn't like how it came out. But it really is a good hyper color job.

I'd completely even forgotten I had the video, but I've been flirting with live blogging CES this year. I'd bought a bloggie HD video cam in the summer, but mintberry often has way better video. Which is what this video is from.

Long story, long - I might flood you with random crap this month, because I'm shy and don't moderate the vids well. I'm not very good at being natural. And just to test out how well live blogging on this thing does.

Of course, content this month looks bleak - so it might be a bunch of boring stuff. You have been warned.

California is going to have to change the name of the national bird.

Yes. I know it's almost Dec 1.

Whenever I hear some story about how another part of the world is going to be the next best Silicon Valley, I sort of chuckle. I mean, it's almost December, and we are just experiencing fall. I took these pictures today before the rain stripped everything off.

There are so many leaves still on the trees, it was really easy to find water backing up because all the leaves have basically started dropping this week.

Bentley in the wild.

This is the second Bentley I've seen in my city this month. And I was a little impressed they drove it all the way from Florida. That must have cost a million dollars. But you would have looked cool doing it.
It's day one - and my fence is still up. The weather people were claiming up to 65 mph winds. They suck! I have to get this fence down by corn growing season.

Place bets now!

The thing about buying houses with "flaws" is..... they almost always need new fences. I'm starting to lose count how many fence repairs I've done now. It really is the hardest thing about these houses. Because neighbors don't really want to admit they have fences.

So a few years ago I developed a really passive aggressive plan. Start to try and make the fence fall on their property. It's the only way they are motivated to fix it. Even if it falls on your property and the fence is down, they will take their time.

So this is what I've been doing with the neighbor to the back. Only he outsmarted me. He started fortifying his side with shrubs and trees, so he doesn't even see this fence. So this past summer I decided it would have to fall on my side. I've been letting all this shit build up on it to make the whole damn thing heavier. So when the wind and the rain comes it will knock the son of a bitch down. And, let me point out, that none of the stuff on this fence even belongs to me. It's all his crap that is overgrowing his property into mine. By almost 8 feet! It's why I don't actually have too many trees at my place. The neighbors keep me plenty busy with theirs.

This will actually be my second time with this neighbor. Last time I let him fix a few segments, but not this time. I'm not going through this again with him.

See my little stick holding it up on my side? Yeah, it's barely holding it up. Mostly because I kicked it lose. So I think we have 5 days of heavy storm coming. Which day do you think it will go?

This is what fall looks like in the burbs.

We are suppose to get a huge storm, so I had to get a few shots on the vineyards before all the leaves are blown off. A lot of them are already off causing the valley to look beautifully patchy.

Lexus concept.

At the SF International Auto Show.
This blog goes off the rails around this time of year. So..... there's that.

I am just in a funky - I don't see much to celebrate mood. Still, I have to put up with the throngs of old people acting as if this was their first day on earth. I believe that Christmas and Thanksgiving are the only days they leave their houses, in a unified effort to test my patience. Which is a slim thing at best.

The other day I had to out old people, the old people. By getting up super early to shop before even they got up from their boxed wine induced stupor. Not to mention these holidays always leave me with a bunch of dread. Half of these old people can barely stand on their own. The other 25% seem to have some sort of dementia or low cognitive skills. You are left to wonder what happened to these people, or conversely, is that shit going to happen to me too? I mean, no one in my family lives to be this old. So I don't know.

Maybe I just get overwhelmed by the sheer number of completely incapable people you have to put up with. Yeah. Forced shopping with shades of your future. What is not to love?

This still counts as in the wild.

Mr S. were out looking for something last week and we accidentally ran across the building for Club Auto Sport. They were working on this R8 on the Club Sportiva side. And while they were closed, one of the guys was nice enough to let us take a peek.

The funny thing about this shot which you can't really make out - is at that light in the background, sits the CHP office. And I thought that was really funny. It's one way to keep your drivers in check.

Good Guys.

I did make it out to a car show on Sunday. Even though I didn't want to.

There were these interesting T-Rex street racers though. I'd never seen one. The company is out of Canada. And if you want one, it's gonna cost you something like 56 grand. I hope to see one on the street someday. Their website.

Alternate color of white flames or frog green.

I was on top of the world looking down on creation.

I just haven't been able to cope well with people yet.

She ran calling wildfire.

I'm in a black and white mood. Which Mr S. said, is one more mood than he is.

I saw a roadrunner and a coyote in the wild today. I better watch out for falling anvils.

I don't know what to talk about. Either I am completely out of touch, or the nation is completely batshit crazy. And I can't figure out which is true.

Thursday, November 08, 2012

I've never talked about this here before.

I still have really close family living in government housing. And until yesterday - It was one of the biggest failures of my life. At least that is how I felt. I mean, you can't tell people how to run their lives. People get really angry. You can only gently offer them suggestions and walk away.

In 2008 I thought we'd finally gotten to a place where we could buy them a trailer to live in, and I'd just assume responsibility for them. Essentially be the government. Then the market fell out.

Today however, I believe that I am more upset about their situation then they are.

That is all.

Unless you want to read about almost the only other time I've talked about my family. Here.

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Uninstalling stress. 75% complete.

Mr S. was fascinated with what a deep color of blue this thing was. While I was trying to get a photo - I saw THIS. And I swear to you, this was the biggest spider I've ever seen in real life. He about about the size of a water bottle cap. I even tried to get a vid of a cap and the spider together, but I guess it didn't come out. If I would have seen a tarantula, I wouldn't have even been freaked out because apparently this area has them, but you can only see them at certain times of the year. And I've never seen one yet. But the park claims they are there. I don't even know what this spider is. Black widows we have a lot of.

Ah the anarchists. You can't go anywhere without seeing them. I did see a river otter. Which I didn't even know my city has. I was so unaware I thought it was a river eel because I only saw his tail wagging around before I saw the body.

I saw a Bentley today.

In my burb no less. My city is moving up.
I'm so lippy these days. Some grocery workers were striking in town. I yelled out - u r lucky to have a job.

If Obama was smart he would have busted open the petroleum reserve the day that storm hit.

I bring you variety.

I wanted to be out of the news cycle today. I wanted life to feel like normal. I'm not starting a project. Nobody in their right minds would right now. It just felt good to sniff the factory air.

Looks like bubbles are the prevailing trend right now. I only sort of like the top set, because the tiles really look the most like bubbles. Part of me likes them, but that would never weather well. In 10 years you'd walk in and say - really? They might look cute in a laundry room though.
